Seeing God Clearly

Have you ever had thoughts that make you question what you know about God?

Am I really forgiven? Do I really belong to Jesus? Could God really love me? What am I supposed to do now?

You may be new to the Bible, a new believer, or someone who has followed Jesus for many years. Wherever you are in your walk, this study is designed to help you know what God says, understand it clearly, and not waver from what He has already said.

Seeing God Clearly is designed to help believers know, understand, remember, and stand firmly on the foundational truths of Scripture. It was created to take you back to Scripture—to know what God says, understand it clearly, hold onto it, and live according to it.

Don't take the author's word for it. Open your Bible. Check every passage. God's Word is final.

Choose a book and chapter. Read the teaching, then open the Scripture passages and read them for yourself. You can also use Read Aloud to listen to the lesson or Scripture.

Don't rush. Read the surrounding verses. Check the context. Ask, “What does God's Word actually say?” Then return to the study and continue.

KNOW IT. GRIP IT. STAND ON IT.

The Seeing God Clearly Bible Study Series was written using the English Standard Version (ESV), which is also the Bible translation used in my church and the translation I normally use for teaching and study.

The interactive version uses the World English Bible — Protestant Edition (WEBP) for the Scripture passages you can open, read, and hear aloud. The reason is not because I prefer the WEBP over the ESV. The WEBP is a public-domain Bible translation, which allows Scripture to be provided directly within the interactive study without the licensing restrictions that apply to copyrighted translations such as the ESV.

You may notice differences in wording between the WEBP and the Bible translation you normally use, but the Scripture references remain the same.

Use your Bible too. If your church uses a different Bible translation, open your Bible and read the passage there. Read the surrounding verses, check the context, and compare the teaching in this study with what God’s Word actually says.

The purpose is not for you to simply take the author’s word for it.

Open your Bible. Read the passage. Check the context. Know the truth. Grip the truth. Stand on it.

Read Aloud uses the speech voice provided by your device and web browser. The voice you hear may be different depending on whether you are using an iPhone, Android phone, tablet, Windows computer, or Mac.

The Interactive Bible Study does not select or provide the voice. Your device and browser determine which voice is used. Because of this, the voice may also change if you change devices or your device’s speech settings are updated.

You can use the Speed setting in the study to adjust how quickly the lesson or Scripture is read.
